About Futuro en Ag

Our goal is to enhance the efficiency and overall viability of Latina/Latino led farm businesses, while creating opportunities for growth and equitable access to high-quality information, expert curriculum, and proven tactics for success.

We aim to ensure success for aspiring Latina/Latino Ag entrepreneurs, and other historically marginalized farmer groups by:

  • Expanding access to Spanish language educational materials through the creation of the Centro de Recursos para Fincas de Nueva York.
  • Developing intentional programs for farmers, their families and and their communities to expose them to more inclusive learning experiences.
  • Hosting farmer-to-farmer peer learning groups.
  • Building service provider networks to support diverse new farmers.
  • Producing timely information in Spanish with the appropriate cultural and technical practices through the formal and non-formal education for the current emerging generation of Latino/Latina farmers.
  • Training leaders capable of managing their farms successfully will make agriculture a pleasant career that allows economic mobilization and well-being in the short and mid-term.

This project is partially supported by a grant from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
