All Family Farm Farmer Veteran Tour
Nate and Misty Allanach of All Family Farm, operate by the philosophy “happier equals healthier”. The Allanachs have cultivated a livelihood centered around raising Berkshire pigs — a heritage breed known for its tenderness and marbling. They allow their pigs to roam freely and forage in open pastures, creating a low-stress, natural environment. This humane treatment not only centers the animals’ dignity and respect but also directly contributes to the exceptional quality of their pork. Their approach to raising pigs is influenced by the values they acquired during Nate and Misty’s service in the Marine Corps and Army, respectively, such as resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to high standards. They take great pride in the ethical and sustainable practices they have implemented, understanding that the care they provide to their animals translates into a healthier product for their customers.
The Allanachs’ pork enterprise has grown steadily since they began selling boutique cuts of meat in 2019. They emphasize the importance of sharing their adventures on the farm with other farmer veterans as a way to enhance their connection with the veteran community and find ways for farmer veterans to mutually aid one another. By offering a welcoming space, Nate and Misty continue to build a farm that is as much about community as it is about producing exceptional pork. By selling directly to consumers on the farm and in other locations, they better connect with their customers and forge relationships that are lasting and mutually beneficial.
