Farm Ops to Offer Scholarships for Trainings, Workshops and Conferences

Our project for veterans in agriculture, Farm Ops, wants to support our NYS veterans in their agricultural pursuits and our current NYS farmer veteran’s expansion of their farm businesses. If you are a veteran interested in expanding your knowledge on small fruit production, taking a deep dive into grazing management, or increasing your knowledge on various topics related to soil health, then taking advantage of one of our veteran scholarships may help you meet your farm goals.

Bailey Colvin

Bailey joined the Small Farms Program in 2022 as a veterans project associate with Farm Ops. She has a fond appreciation for the sacrifices that our veterans, active-duty military members, and their families make for our country as many close to her have served. Her work supports veterans who wish to explore or further their agricultural ventures with educational resources, training, and opportunities to network with other farmer veterans. Her goal is that veterans ultimately find a renewed sense of purpose through agriculture in their communities.
