NY Nut Growers’ Association Annual Fall Meeting

Stay up to date with nut growing in New York and meet experienced growers!

All are welcome to register to attend the New York Nut Growers Association 2026 Fall Meeting on October 17 in Rensselaer County. The program will take place from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with registration and breakfast starting at 8:30 and the meeting kicking off at 9:00 am. The meeting will be held at Willow Water Farm, hosted by owners Brian Ellis and Gary Ellis, at 4091 West Glenville Road, Amsterdam, NY. Speakers and discussion topics will include Dennis Strk (Off-Site Permaculture: Successes and Failure); Andrew Sblendorio (Air Pruning Beds for Root Development); Mark Brownlee (Incorporating Forest Trees into your Nut-Growing Operations); Joellen Lampman (What to Know About Ticks); Linda Garrett (How the American Farmland Trust Supports Farmers Both Nationally and in NY); and Ben Stromback (Farm-Scale Tree Planting! And Then What?). Following a light lunch, Brian Ellis will talk about topworking hickory trees and lead an afternoon tour of Willow Water Farm.

Participants are welcome to bring items related to nut growing or nut eating to sell or share during lunch.

The New York Nut Growers Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that promotes nut tree growing in New York State. It’s not necessary to be a member of the New York Nut Growers Association (NYNGA) to attend this meeting. A light breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of meeting registration, which is $20/member, $25/non-member. Pre-registration is required to facilitate meal planning. Dress comfortably for an indoor/outdoor meeting. Please check the weather in advance and plan accordingly.
