Veteran Cohort Tree Fruit Field Day

This in-person event is designed and centered upon the veteran members of the Tree Fruit Production Cohort. Cohort members will hear from an experienced grower about the practical aspects of running an orchard and nursery. They will discuss grafting, nursery tree production, and initial care of young nursery trees, and observe pruning techniques for young fruit trees. Additionally, they will learn about Integrated Pest Management (IPM), including IPM for diseases, insects, and weeds common to New York fruit orchards, and the IPM resources available from Cornell. Finally, they will learn about pesticides, their labels, and how to apply them. Each participant will receive two fruit trees to take home.
