Local Food Fair at Cornell University Nov 15th

Come one and all! Mann Library will be co-hosting the 4th annual Local Fair at Cornell University from 2 – 5pm on Nov. 15, 2012. There’ll be a lively open market in the Mann Lobby, offering a rich sampling of food, fiber and energy products from the Finger Lakes region, as well as informative displays on local and campus efforts to support vibrant communities. The Fair is free and open to the public, so please join us. Tell others as well -like us on Facebook and forward our poster.
In recognition of the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s signing of the Land-Grant College Act, the theme of this year’s Fair is Local Ideas that Work! Read more about this years Fair and our co-sponsors here
NEW! Right after this year’s fair, starting at 5:30pm in Room 160 of Mann Library, we’ll be hosting a community conversation on Seed Saving for Health and Resilience. Snacks and beverages will be provided, including local popcorn.

Violet Stone

Violet is the coordinator of the Reconnecting with Purpose project, which offers farm and food system educators and change makers a retreat space to explore challenges and renew a sense of inspiration and purpose in their work and lives. She is also a collaborator on the Be Well Farming Project. This project creates reflective spaces for farmers and food producers to connect meaningfully and explore strategies that can ameliorate challenges and bolster quality of life. Violet serves as the NY SARE Coordinator and can help farmers and educators navigate NESARE grant opportunities.
