Communications Manager

An Upstate New York native, I was excited to return to the area to join the Cornell Small Farms Program team in the summer of 2018. As the program’s Communications Manager, I have worked to enhance and expand the program’s storytelling and outreach. These efforts can be seen on our website, social media, e-newsletter, magazine, and other platforms and print materials.

I’ve worked in communications and journalism for more than a decade, with a primary focus on science and sustainability. I'm a graduate of Ithaca College with B.A.s in journalism and environmental studies. I then pursued an M.A. in Specialized Journalism, focusing on climate change science, at the University of Southern California.

Prior to my role at the Cornell Small Farms Program, I worked as a freelance content manager. I also previously worked as a journalist for Live Science, covering earth and environmental science, as well as technology and general science news. Prior to that position, I was the Editor/Writer for USC Annenberg. In that role I managed all editorial and social channels for the school. Through this time I was also working as a freelance journalist for various publications. I've always enjoyed the role that writing can play in helping readers connect to the natural world.

When not working as a storyteller, I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen. It’s my love of baking and cooking that pulled me into the local food movement, and one day I hope to start a small farm of my own.
