The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is a pioneer of purpose-driven science and home to Cornell University’s second largest population of students, faculty and staff. CALS works across disciplines to tackle the challenges of our time through world-renowned research, education and outreach. The questions they probe and the answers they seek focus on three overlapping concerns: natural and human systems; food, energy and environmental resources; and social, physical and economic well-being.

The Cornell Small Farms Program was established in 2001 as a program of CALS to increase research and extension for small farms.

In the years since, the Cornell Small Farms Program has engaged in research and extension projects focused on small farm viability by working collaboratively with a network of CALS faculty and staff.
