Demystifying GAPs: An interactive workshop for NY fruit and vegetable growers

The best way to increase your farm’s food safety is to establish practical post harvest handling systems for cleaning, cooling, packing, storage, sanitation and transportation.   The trainers will share how-to tips gleaned from their own farms, and from other experienced farmers.

MEET THE TRAINERS: trainer Atina Diffley, was the co-founder of Gardens of Eagan in Northfield, MN.  The farm’s certified organic produce and vegetable transplants can be found at more than 15 farmers markets, food coops and Whole Foods stores throughout Minnesota.
Steve Warshawer is the Food Safety Coordinator for the Wallace Center’s National Good Food Network.  Steve has also been a farmer and rancher at Beneficial Farms in Santa Fe, NM for more than 30 years.
