Website Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County

CCE Suffolk is a unique non-profit, sub-governmental organization dedicated to addressing the critical issues faced by Long Islanders through research-based programs and services. As direct partners with the government, we leverage multi-disciplinary research to provide localized guidance and solutions, setting us apart from other non-profits in Suffolk. Our exceptional team of over 200 educators, specialists, researchers, and volunteers collaborates with Cornell University and the land grant system, granting us access to world-class educational resources, technology, and programming.

Established in 1917, the Agriculture Program was CCE’s original mandate and continues today with specialists in a wide range of expertise. Farmers face many challenges including a changing climate, rising costs, labor shortages, stiff competition and environmental stewardship. The Agriculture Program staff helps to address these challenges through targeted research and educational opportunities, working to ensure the economic and environmental sustainability of the agricultural industries on Long Island for many years to come.
