Farm Ops Virtual Event May 20, 2025 Field-Expedient Photography: Capturing Your Farm’s Story with Your Phone

As a veteran, you know the value of adaptability, attention to detail, and getting the job done with the tools at hand. That same mindset that served you in uniform can help you take better photos, with the gear you already have in your pocket, so you can showcase your farm, create a record of your efforts, promote your work, and connect with your customers.

Join Farm Ops for a 1.5-hour virtual seminar designed specifically for farmer veterans who want to take better photos using just their phone. This is an introductory period of instruction, and attendees will be given exercises to practice to continue their learning progression past the information presented. Led by a former Marine Corps Combat Correspondent with more than 2 decades of professional photography experience, this session will teach you how to:

  • Use light, framing, and angles to create compelling images

  • Capture stories that show your hard work, dedication, and daily life of your farm

  • Avoid common mistakes that weaken your visual impact

  • Use practical exercises to build your skills over time

Whether you’re selling products, applying for grants, or simply sharing your journey, strong visuals tell your story better than words alone. No fancy gear required – just your phone and a mission-focused approach.

Date: May 20

Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Location: Virtual
