Farm Ops In-Person Grafting Workshop

Farm Ops, in collaboration with Ort Family Farm, is proud to present an exclusive, hands-on grafting workshop designed for growers, gardeners, and horticulture enthusiasts. This in-person event, held at Cornell AgriTech in Gevena, NY,  provides a unique opportunity to delve into the time-honored practice of grafting fruit trees under the expert guidance of Roger Ort, an experienced horticulturist and farmer.

Participants will learn the foundational techniques of grafting, from selecting and preparing rootstocks and scions, to creating successful unions. With practical, step-by-step instruction, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to graft your own trees. Each attendee will have the opportunity to work directly with high-quality materials and will leave the workshop with three grafted fruit trees to nurture and grow.

In addition to hands-on practice, Roger will share valuable insights on the care and maintenance required during the critical first year to ensure the success of your grafted trees. This workshop is perfect for those interested in propagating their favorite fruit varieties, preserving heirlooms, or expanding their expertise in orchard management.
