Agrivoltaics refers to the practice of integrating solar energy generation and farming on the same piece of land. New York’s solar market has grown steadily in recent years and there are programs and grants available to support reducing energy costs with solar panels or other on-farm energy best practices.

This is an easy way for farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners access funding and other incentives by implementing practices deemed “climate smart”.
The USDA’s Rural Energy for America ProgramProvides loans and grants to farmers and small business owners for use of renewable energy systems on their farms.
