Lengthen the Life of Your Garden Tools This Winter!

Clinic on Caring for Garden Hand Tools Before Winter

LIBERTY, NY— Gardening season has concluded for the year but before being stored for the winter, hand tools should receive some tender love and care.  A hands-on clinic on garden hand tool end-of-season maintenance will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Master Gardener program. Participants can bring their bruised and rusty garden tools to the clinic at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty.
Vince Sanborn, Master Gardener and blacksmith, will guide the class on how to properly clean, sharpen, and store garden tools to make them last many years.
All class materials are covered with a registration fee of $25.00. Class size is limited so pre-registration with non-refundable payment is required. Registration and more information can be obtained by calling 845-292-6180 or emailing smd243@cornell.edu.
