Tim installed their 6.72 kwh grid tied solar PV electric system (with financial help from the NY Power Authority) and an evacuated tube hot water system. The evacuated tube hot water system preheats the water before entering faucets. In the spring, summer and fall, no additional heating source is needed to heat the water.
In the summer, shade cloth is needed to prevent the water passing through the system to overheat
